From Dj To ASN Immigration: Vape Business Contains Narcotics Dismantled By The Riau Islands Police In Batam

The Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the Riau Islands Police (Kepri) arrested three perpetrators of electric cigarette liquid (vape) dealers containing narcotics, one of whom is a civil servant (PNS) in a government agency in Batam City.

The Director of Narcotics at the Riau Islands Police, Kombes Anggoro Wicaksono, said the perpetrators each had the initials MAP, a civil servant at a government institution (Immigration); FP, a disc jockey (DJ); and GP, secretary of a private company in Batam.

"Initial arrests were made against FP, then we developed an investigation based on the results of the examination in question. He admitted that he handed over the vape to MAP through GP," said Anggoro in Batam, Antara, Wednesday, October 29.

According to him, the investigation into this case had been carried out for a long time until the first perpetrator was arrested on October 22, 2025.

From FP's confession, the two bottles of liquid vape he sold contained MDMB-4EN-Pinaca, and were obtained from a person with the initials P who was in Malaysia.

"Against P, we have issued a wanted list (DPO) status," he said.

FP claimed to have sold one bottle of liquid drug vape to MAP through a GP intermediary. Based on the results of the development, the Ditresnarkoba team then secured the GP on October 23, 2025 at around 02.30 WIB.

From the results of the examination, GP is known to help FP deliver liquid vape to the MAP residence in the Batu Ampar area. On the same day, at around 15.00 WIB, MAP came to the Riau Islands Police to surrender while carrying a bottle of liquid vape containing the narcotics.

"The results of the examination showed that MAP admitted that one bottle of liquid vape would be consumed by him himself," said Anggoro.

Despite surrendering himself, the legal process against MAP and the other two perpetrators continued. All three have been named as suspects.

The police confiscated evidence in the form of three bottles of liquid vape containing narcotics of the MDMB-4EN-Pinaca type weighing a total of 18.74 grams, three cell phones, and one car unit.

The three were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) and/or Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of death penalty, life imprisonment, or a minimum of five years.
