Amellya Sifa Hopes to Contribute to a Medal at the 2026 Asian Games

JAKARTA - BMX Racing athlete Amellya Nur Sifa hopes that she can contribute a medal for Indonesia in the 2026 Asian Games multi-sport event held in Japan.

Sifa said that preparations for the four-year sports festival had gone well and were now entering the refinement stage.

"Hopefully (I) can maintain my performance until the day of the match. If the goal is of course to contribute a medal for Indonesia," he said on the sidelines of a visit by Todotua Pasaribu as the Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian Contingent for the 2026 Asian Games.

Sifa is the previous Asian Games gold medallist who took place in Hangzhou 2022. He managed to climb to the highest podium of the Women's Moto Run 3.

The athlete born in Jakarta in 2003 welcomed Todotua Pasaribu's visit to the national training center for the BMX Racing cycling branch.

He said that the presence of the CdM team was a form of attention and moral support for athletes who were undergoing preparations for the largest four-year sports festival in Asia.

"Thank you very much to the Chef de Mission who has visited our training site. Hopefully we can give Indonesia an extraordinary result," said Sifa.

Todotua Pasaribu assessed that the preparations made by the BMX Racing athletes showed positive developments. He appreciated the seriousness of the athletes and the coaching team in preparing for the 2026 Asian Games.

"From a technical point of view, they are very qualified. I also discussed with the Secretary-General that this training is not only for the Asian Games, but also part of the preparations for next year's SEA Games," he said.

The 2026 Asian Games will take place in Aichi and Nagoya from September 19 to October 4. Indonesia is likely to send 420 athletes from 32 sports with a target of four gold medals.
