Free Nutrition Eating Program Ends In Nausea And Mass Vomiting In East Lombok, Police Intervene

EAST LOMBOK - East Lombok Resort Police, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), is investigating a case of alleged mass poisoning of students that allegedly occurred after eating food from the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program in the Pringgabaya District.

"We are paying attention to this alleged poisoning case. Today the members are checking the condition of patients being treated at the Batuyang Health Center," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Lombok Police AKP I Made Dharma Yulia Putra, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 21.

He said, from the results of the examination of patients, it was true that symptoms of poisoning were found after students ate MBG food. "After eating MBG, the patient suddenly vomited and nauseated," he said.

Seeing the condition of their children vomiting, the parents immediately took them to the puskesmas. However, not long ago, dozens of students from the same school also came with similar symptoms, so medical officers had to provide intensive care.

"Since that incident, we have collected information from patients," said Dharma.

He added that the police had also checked the kitchen where MBG food processing was to take samples and conduct further investigations.

Previously, a number of students at several schools in Pringgabaya District experienced nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea after allegedly eating food from the MBG program on October 17, 2025.

As a result of this incident, several students had to be treated at the Batuyang Health Center, some of whom were even given IVs due to weakened body conditions.

Head of the Indonesian Development Mover Bachelor (SPPI) Sharing Mulia Pringgabaya, Eka Suryana, confirmed the incident. He said his party was still collecting data in the field.
