JAKARTA - Palestinian militant group Hamas on Sunday accused Israel of repeatedly violating a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, claiming Israeli forces had killed at least 46 Palestinians and injured more than 130 others since the ceasefire began on October 10.

"Israeli occupation forces deliberately targeted civilians and opened fire on them in the area allowed to move, causing the deaths of 46 people and injuring 132 others," Hamas said in a statement.

Hamas said half of the victims were children, women, and the elderly, including the Abu Shaban family, which "rest completely, including seven children and two women."

It said the Israeli violation was "an attempt to weaken and sabotage the agreement (of a ceasefire), and a continuation of the Israeli aggression policy."

Hamas stressed that Israel continues to prevent the entry of basic necessities such as meat, poultry, and livestock, as well as medical equipment, construction supplies, and other materials needed to improve vital infrastructure and operate hospitals, despite a ceasefire agreement.

Hamas also said Israel had also continued to delay the release of women and minors who were still detained, saying Israel had failed to provide Hamas with a complete list of prisoners detained in prisons or hundreds of Palestinians whose bodies were still being held.

The Palestinian militant group also highlighted the bodies of 150 Palestinians who had been returned by Israel, some of whom were "tricked, showing signs of being strangled, or run over by military vehicles."

However, the Palestinian group stressed its commitment to the ceasefire agreement despite Israeli violations, saying it carried out its provisions "with full accuracy and responsibility."

Hamas urged mediators and guarantors to force Israel "respect and implement the agreement both literally and enthusiastically, and to stop violations that threaten to damage it."

It is known that a ceasefire and hostage exchange agreement was reached between Israel and Hamas on October 10, based on a gradual plan put forward by United States President Donald Trump.

The first stage includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The plan also includes the rebuilding of Gaza and the formation of a new government mechanism without Hamas.

Yesterday, medical sources in Gaza confirmed the death toll from Palestine since the conflict broke out on October 70, 2023 in the Palestinian enclave had reached 68,159, mostly women and children, while 170,203 others were injured, quoted from WAFA.
