The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs' Performance Is The Second Best In A Year Of Prabowo-Gibran Government

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemlu RI) won the second best score in the latest research by the IndoStrategi research institute regarding the one year performance of the Red and White Cabinet.

Quoting Antara, the results of IndoStrategi's qualitative research regarding the evaluation of one year of the performance of the Red and White Cabinet put the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Minister Sugiono in second place.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is only under the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education in a 0-5 scale score.

The source in IndoStrategi's qualitative research considers Foreign Minister Sugiono to have succeeded in implementing active free diplomacy to increase Indonesia's influence at the global level in the past year.

Three positive assessments that are in the spotlight of the performance of Foreign Minister Sugiono are his success in bridging Indonesia from joining BRICS, maintaining stability of Indonesian diplomacy in international relations and successfully providing protection for Indonesian citizens through digital facilities.

Respondents also gave recommendations to Foreign Minister Sugiono and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he led to strengthen economic diplomacy and increase the protection of Indonesian citizens abroad.

Then, rebranding of Indonesia's diplomatic image on Global South is also encouraged to be more adaptive to contemporary situations.

Foreign Minister Sugiono himself is noted to have had many achievements in the past year, including his direct presence at the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia in October 2024 to declare Indonesia's will to join as a member.

A few months after that, Indonesia was officially accepted as a member in January 2025.

Foreign Minister Sugiono is also actively fighting for Palestinian independence in various multilateral forums. With his leadership, Indonesia is considered to be increasingly voicing the independence of Palestine.

Most recently, Foreign Minister Sugiono came to North Korea to increase cooperation with Indonesia. This is the first visit of the Indonesian Foreign Minister to North Korea 12 years ago.

In matters of protecting Indonesian citizens abroad, Foreign Minister Sugiono also managed to repatriate more than 500 victims of online scamming from Myawaddi, Myanmar in March 2025.

The Foreign Minister also quickly facilitated the return of Indonesian citizens from Tehran, Iran when it was hit by conflict with Israel.

The IndoStrategi survey was carried out involving 424 resource persons from 34 provinces with a minimum undergraduate educational background and having permanent jobs such as activists, teachers, lecturers, government employees, private employees, entrepreneurs, as well as undergraduate and doctoral students.

IndoStrategi also used information from 10 experts from various educational backgrounds who then discussed it in a Group Discussion. Research is conducted from September to mid-October 2025.

In general, IndoStrategi's research results state that the performance of the national Red and White Cabinet is in the moderate category with a score of 3.07 from a scale of 0-5.

According to IndoStrategi Research Director Ali Noer, the Prabowo-Gibran administration is currently still in the consolidation and institutional coordination phase.

"The public needs to give the Prabowo-Gibran government the opportunity to consolidate and coordinate, given the large number of cabinet members," he said.

"He hopes that in the second year the government's performance will begin to show tangible results from what was promised by the Prabowo-Gibran government," said Noer Zaman.

The results of the research detailed 10 ministries with the highest score score for the latest IndoStrategi survey version in October 2025.

These details noted that the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education received 3.35; Ministry of Foreign Affairs 3.32; Ministry of Religion 3.26, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology 3.22; and Ministry of Agriculture with 3.21 acquisition.

In addition, there is the Ministry of Finance which received a score of 3.15, Ministry of Home Affairs 3.14; Ministry of Defense 3.13; Ministry of Forestry 3.08; and Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming by 3.08.
