JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that he will build a hospital on the land of the former Sumber Waras Hospital, West Jakarta next year. This was decided after consulting with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Pramono said that the land case of the Sumber Waras Hospital had occurred in Jakarta for a long time. In the past, the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) found indications of price irregularities and administrative violations by the DKI Provincial Government in purchasing the land.
"This Waras source has been 10 years, 11 years. The incident was 2014. It was great at that time. Finally, because of his seriousness in resolving it, hopefully next year we can start building the Sumber Waras Hospital," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, October 17.
According to Pramono, the land of the Sumber Waras Hospital with an area of 3.6 hectares is strategic enough to be built as a class A hospital. Moreover, when the leadership of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) as the Governor of DKI, the DKI Provincial Government has prepared a construction design for the hospital.
"For the hospitals that will be built, of course, at the Sumber Waras place because this area is a premium area, an area of 3.6 hectares, and in the previous governor's era, amdal and planning have actually been prepared," Pramono explained.

Therefore, Pramono will decide one of the two options, whether to build a new hospital or move one of Tarakan Hospitals which is also type A to the new land.
"First, whether moving Tarakan Hospital which is now narrow, what is it, in the middle of the city, to the Sumber Waras area, or then building a new one," he said.
Separately, the KPK confirmed that it had stopped the investigation into alleged corruption in the land acquisition of Sumber Waras Hospital by the Jakarta Provincial Government worth Rp800 billion.
The termination of the case, which had been investigated since 2016, was decided in 2023 because there was not enough evidence to be brought to the investigation stage.
This assurance was conveyed by the Director of Coordination and Supervision of Region II KPK, Bahtiar Ujang Purnama, after the Governor of Jakarta Pramono Anung held an audience at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, October 16, 2025.
"That it was true that in 2014 the procurement was carried out by the KPK's investigation steps. However, after an analysis was carried out with various kinds of evidence or other evidence, the KPK decided that the available evidence was not sufficient for investigation steps," said Bahtiar.
"So that in the realm of investigation, the KPK in 2023 has stopped investigating the case," he continued.
