Yellow Thread: Golkar and Prabowo’s Government Aligned Politically

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Idrus Marham, assessed that one year of leadership by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka showed strong character similarities with Golkar's leadership patterns. According to him, this leadership style reflects the ideological spirit, is responsive to the people, and is able to have a real positive impact on the field.

Idrus made this statement at the launch of the book Nomadology of Political Actors Without Ideology and Political Magnets of the Golkar Party at the Golkar DPP office, Jakarta, Thursday, October 16, 2025. The launch of the book is also a momentum for evaluation of the one-year Prabowo-Gibran administration.

According to him, the results of an internal discussion with the General Chairperson of Golkar Bahlil Lahadalia showed that there was a 'yellow flash' linking Prabowo's leadership pattern with the party's character bearing the banyan tree. He mentioned at least five characteristics of Prabowo's leadership which were in line with Golkar's principles.

First, Prabowo applied an ideological approach rooted in the four pillars of nationality, namely Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. This, said Idrus, can be seen from Prabowo's first speech after being elected president who reminded all people that Indonesia is a large house' that must be cared for together.

Second, Prabowo's leadership puts forward an academic and intellectual approach in solving the nation's problems. Democracy is carried out not only procedurally, but also substantially by emphasizing justice and equality.

Third, Prabowo applies a sociological approach based on the reality of the field. Policies are taken based on facts found in the community. Idrus gave an example of how ministers in the Red and White Cabinet come down directly to solve various people's problems.

The fourth feature, said Idrus, is speed in executing policies. Prabowo's government is considered responsive in responding to public problems and is able to make strategic decisions quickly and precisely.

The fifth feature is the orientation of the populist. The Prabowo-Gibran government is considered capable of listening to the aspirations of the people and trying to meet the needs of the community. Idrus also appreciated the president's firm stance on efforts to eradicate corruption and people's programs such as food self-sufficiency.

"Mr. Prabowo's leadership orientation is people's problems: solving people's problems, meeting the needs of the people, and giving better hope for the future," said Idrus.

He considered these five positive notes to show the direction of national leadership that is in line with the character of the Golkar Party. This yellow thread, according to Idrus, is a strong signal that collaboration between the government and political parties can strengthen national stability and accelerate the achievement of the nation's development goals.
