IDF Chief Of Staff Ensures Military Will Not Rest Until All Hostages Are Returned

JAKARTA - Israeli Chief of Staff Defense Forces (IDF) Lieutenant General Eyal Zami said the military "will not rest until we return all (of the hostage).

Lieutenant General Zamir said returning all hostages was our moral, national and religious duty.

"Coordinating with political echelons, we will insist and uphold in enforcing all agreements," Lieutenant Zamir said in a ceremony handing over the position of head of the Northern Corps.

As part of the first phase of the ceasefire deal reached last week, Hama will release hostages, both alive and dead, while Israel will release Palestinian prisoners from prison.

Hamas released all 20 surviving hostages on Monday, as well as the bodies of four dead hostages.

Tuesday night Hamas returned to return four bodies through red bars. The Israeli military confirmed three of them were hostages, while one more body was not a hostage. So that there are still 21 hostages' bodies that have not been returned.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's (PMO) office warned Hamas was "required to fulfill its commitment to mediators and return (the remaining bodies) as part of the implementation of the agreement."

"We will not compromise on this and will make every effort until we can bring back all the hostages who died," PMO promised.
