JAKARTA - President Director of Perumda Pasar Jaya Agus Himawan clarified the issue of increasing the price of kiosk rental after the Scout Market, East Jakarta was revitalized. Agus emphasized that the determination of kiosk rental rates was not carried out unilaterally.

Pasar Jaya, he continued, had a comprehensive study involving the technical team, finance, and independent valuation results from the Public Appraisal Service Office (KJPP).

In addition, Agus revealed that his party had followed up on all aspirations and inputs submitted through various parties, including several factions of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Commission B, the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polhukam), and the Ombudsman.

In addition, Pasar Jaya also provides a discount and gradual payment (Cicilan) scheme for traders so that the financial burden is lighter. In the near future, this regional company owned by the DKI Provincial Government will open a discussion room with Scout Market traders.

"We will open up a space for negotiations with traders so that all parties have the same understanding and the best solution can be achieved together," said Agus.

Previously, a number of traders from Pramuka Market, East Jakarta visited the DKI Jakarta City Hall to submit objections to the DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung regarding the issue of increasing the price of kiosk rental after the market renovation carried out by Perumda Pasar Jaya.

The chairman of the Scout Market Traders Association, Efaldi, explained the details of the price difference before and after renovation.

Before the renovation, actually the cost is calculated per year, 5 million per year. If multiplied by 20 years, it means 100 million. Then now the price is set at IDR 425 million per kiosk for 20 years with a discount of 5 percent," said Efaldi at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, October 9.

With this four-fold increase, traders submitted a new price proposal, with details of Rp250 million per kiosk on the ground floor and Rp200 million on the first floor for 20 years.

As the party accompanying traders, the General Chairperson of the Crescent Star Party (PBB), Gumum Ridho Putra, explained that this meeting was aimed at finding common ground between traders and market managers.

"The point is that this is actually a meeting for further negotiations, negotiations related to post-renovation prices. So the Scout market wants to be renovated by Perumda (Pasar Jaya), but then the post-renovation price is set to be greater than before, which is 4 times," said Gugum.

According to him, traders object to the drastic increase in rental prices. "Drug traders, medical device traders there feel it is difficult if the rent increases to 4 times," he added.
