Today, Be Alert! BMKG Predicts Thunderstorms To Rob In Various Regions

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reminded the public to be aware of the potential for strong winds, lightning rain, tidal flooding to the maximum hot weather in a number of areas on Thursday, October 2.

BMKG weather forecaster Muhammad Risky said that the potential for tidal flooding could occur on the Coasts of Central Java, East Java, South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan.

In addition, light intensity rain is predicted to flush the cities of Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, Bengkulu, Bandar Lampung, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Tanjung Selor, Palangka Raya, Palu, Manado, Ambon, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya.

"The rain is currently potentially in the cities of Pangkalpinang, Serang, Mamuju, Sorong, and Merauke. Meanwhile, rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to occur in the cities of Palembang, Jakarta, and Pontianak," Risky explained, quoted by ANTARA.

BMKG also warned of thick to foggy cloudy weather in Surabaya, Denpasar, Mataram, Kupang, Samarinda, Banjarmasin, Makassar, Kendari, Gorontalo, and Ternate, with temperatures ranging from 2834 degrees Celsius.

Risky explained that Tropical Cyclone 93W was detected in eastern Philippines extending to northern Papua and is expected to become a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours. Furthermore, cyclonic circulation was observed in the southwest Indian Ocean of Sumatra extending West Sumatra-Bengkulu, southwest of Banten, Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua Mountains.

The existence of these cyclone seeds is considered capable of increasing the growth of rain clouds while accelerating the surface wind to more than 25 knots in a number of parts of Indonesia.

BMKG also reported, in addition to the same period, a maximum heat temperature of 30-34 degrees Celsius is expected to occur during the day in a number of areas in Denpasar, Mataram, Kupang, Samarinda, Tanjung Selor, Palangka Raya, and Banjarmasin cities.
