SIDOARJO - Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar ensured that his party would pay special attention to the construction aspects for all Islamic boarding schools (ponpes), madrasas, and other educational institutions in Indonesia.

This is part of the Ministry of Religion's efforts to ensure the safety aspects of students and students as a result of the collapse of the prayer room building at the Al Khoziny Sidoarjo Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), East Java.

"This is a lesson for us, in the future the Ministry of Religion will pay special attention to the physical and technical aspects of the construction of Islamic boarding schools, madrasas, and other educational institutions in order to meet construction and safety standards," Nasaruddin told reporters while visiting the location of the incident. reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 30.

Nasaruddin also highlighted the aspect of the development of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia which were carried out independently by the boarding school with assistance from students.

According to him, this happens a lot in Indonesia, so it risks causing unwanted incidents due to less than optimal technical supervision.

In the future, he hopes that other Islamic boarding schools and educational institutions will increase attention in the technical aspects of the construction process.

"We all need introspection. We hope that all construction processes in Islamic boarding schools and non-pesantren must follow the applicable rules for the sake of mutual safety," he said.

The Minister of Religion also hopes that this disaster will be the last time in the world of Islamic boarding schools.

"Hopefully this will be the last. In the future we will strengthen supervision in terms of technical construction of buildings," said Nasaruddin.
