Minister Of Law: The Deputy Minister's Deadline For Multiple Positions Is Only 2 Years

JAKARTA - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Atas said that the deputy minister who currently serves as commissioner in BUMN was only given two years.

This was said by Supratman in line with the ban on concurrent ministerial and deputy ministerial positions on SOE directors in the revision of the BUMN Law which had been approved by Commission VI of the DPR RI.

"It's been said, the term is 2 years. But it all depends on the derivative rules later, there is a Presidential Decree," Supratman said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, September 26.

One of the deputy ministers who concurrently served as Deputy Minister of Digital Communications, Angga Raka Prabowo, who was also appointed as Head of the Government Communications Agency (BKP). Angga is also trusted to be the President Commissioner of PT Telkom Indonesia.

The Working Committee (Panja) of the House of Representatives Commission VI Bill today has approved a ban on concurrent ministerial and deputy ministerial positions on the board of directors, commissioners, and supervisory board of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP).

This provision follows the change of nomenclature from the Ministry of SOEs to BP BUMN in the revision of the BUMN Law which is currently being discussed between the government and the DPR RI, before it was ratified at the Plenary Meeting.

This provision is also a follow-up to the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) Number 128/PUU-XXIII/2025. The decision states a separation between the executive function and the management of SOEs.

"The ban on concurrent positions for ministers and deputy ministers on the board of directors, commissioners, and supervisory board of SOEs is a follow-up to the decision of the Constitutional Court Number 128/PUU-XXIII/2025," said Andre Rosiade, in a meeting of Commission VI of the DPR RI regarding the revision of the BUMN Law with the government at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, September 26.
