JAKARTA - The future of the Indonesian logistics industry is not only determined by the port, but also the quality of the younger generation. Realizing this, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) / Pelindo again held the Pelindo Teaching program in approximately 66 high schools in September - October 2025.
This program is a means of corporate social investment to grow literacy and introduce the world of logistics to students, and be part of the Pelindo (Pelindo Day) anniversary series which is 4 of 2025.
Since several years ago, Pelindo has routinely carried out this activity as part of the company's social and environmental responsibility (TJSL). The focus remains the same, namely expanding access to education, motivating students to be enthusiastic about learning, as well as preparing future leaders who are literate and understand the strategic role of the port.
Pelindo's President Director, Arif Suhartono, said that the sustainability of this program proves the company's commitment to society.
"We want students to understand that the port is not just an entry point for goods, but an important part of the logistics chain that supports the national economy," said Arif, quoted on Thursday, September 25.
According to Arif, Pelindo Teaching is a space for direct interaction between SOE leaders and the community. Teachers not only come from the board of directors and commissioners, but also regional executives to branch managers.
Pelindo is present in the community, provides direct benefits, and encourages the birth of future leaders," he said.
This year, the Pelindo Teaching program targets thousands of high school and junior high school students in various regions, from Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, to Papua.
The chosen schools are generally around the port or operational area of Pelindo, especially schools that have never received similar programs, or corporate social assistance in the last three years.
In addition to class materials, this program is accompanied by the provision of information technology devices for schools.

This is an effort to strengthen educational facilities, which is in line with the needs of the digital era. In the future, we hope that students involved can become agents of change, both in the school environment and in the community," said Arif.
In addition, Pelindo's President Commissioner, Agus Suhartono, said that through this program, Pelindo contributed to instilling a sense of pride and love for the country. The easy generation must struggle to realize the dream of the Indonesian nation.
"God willing, what we are fighting for will be achieved," said Agus.
