President Prabowo: Indonesia Encourages Conflict Resolution In All Places

JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto said he was grateful to have used the United Nations General Assembly to convey Indonesia's stance, encouraging conflict resolution in all places, especially the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

President Prabowo delivered a stunning speech at the General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly, stunning state leaders, heads of government, and representatives who attended General Assembly Hall, United Nations Headquarters, New York, Tuesday.

Speaking in a press statement in New York before leaving for Canada on Wednesday, President Prabowo said Indonesia was pushing for the resolution of all conflicts that occurred in the world.

"Alhamduillah, I used the stage to convey our attitude, Indonesia's attitude, especially encouraging conflict resolution in all places," said President Prabowo, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Thursday, September 25.

"But the most important thing for us is that we really feel the screams of suffering from the people (Jalur) Gaza," he added.

In a 15-minute speech, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of the existence of the United Nations to Indonesia's commitment to Palestinian independence and a two-state solution.

His speech received a warm response from various parties, including the President of the United States Donald Trump, the King of Jordan Abdullah II to the President of Brazil Luiz In warycio Lula da Silva.

"There are so many who are positive because we are considered realistic, considered balanced. I also openly say, peace can only come if everyone recognizes respect and guarantees Israel's security. Israel must also be guaranteed security, then we can get peace," President Prabowo said when asked about the response to his speech.

It is known that the President in Tuesday's General Debate firmly said that the solution of the two countries was the only way out of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

"We must realize Palestinian independence. But we must also recognize, respect and ensure the security and safety of Israel," said President Prabowo.

"Only that can realize true peace, no more hatred, no more suspicion," he continued.

"The only solution is the solution of two countries. Two descendants (Nabi) Ibrahim must live in reconciliation, peace and harmony," he said.

Regarding the opportunity to make a speech in third place after Brazil and the United States, which are traditionally unwritten, always gets their first and second turn, President Prabowo said it was an honor.

"I am left with an honor that I can speak, got an honorable order after Brazil, which is always number one and the United States, which is always number two," he said.

"This respects Indonesia, respects Indonesia," he said.
