2 Members Of Nemangkawi Task Force Injured In Shootout With KKB

JAKARTA - Papua Police Chief Irjen Mathius Fakhiri said two members of Nemangkawi Task Force were wounded by a record during a shootout with an armed criminal group (KKB) in Kampung Wuloni, Puncak Regency, Thursday, May 13.

"It is true that there are two members of Nemangkawi Task Force who were injured by the record," said Police Chief Irjen Mathius Fakhiri, Friday, May 14.

According to the Police Chief, their condition is stable because they are exposed to a record in the hands and back of the body.

In the shootout that occurred Thursday morning, a KKB member was killed in the vicinity of Wuloni Village, which is located relatively far from Ilaga.

"The location of the weapons contact was far from Ilaga and members managed to secure various evidence, including documents and the Bintang Kejora flag," Fakhiri said.

The police chief said the team had not yet fully controlled kbb headquarters in the area.

"Not yet fully mastered. However, members are already doing the sealing. For sure we try to prevent KKB from entering Ilaga, then separating them from the community," he continued.

The police chief confirmed that at this time all members of Nemangkawi Task Force are on standby. Gun contact between Task Force Nemangkawi and KKB reportedly killed Lesmin Waker.
