Gakkum KLH Sets MNC LL Corporate Suspect In Lido SEZ Case

JAKARTA - Deputy for Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Environment (Gakkum KLH) Rizal Irawan revealed that his party had named a suspect in the Lido Special Economic Zone (KEK) case.

"For Lido, there has been a suspect determination, so it doesn't stagnate. Maybe next weeks there will be a summons, if yesterday the summons was a sanction, next weeks he will be called a suspect," said Deputy Gakkum KLH / Environmental Control Agency (BPLH) Rizal as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 17.

Rizal only said that the corporate party was a suspect in the alleged development activity case causing the silting of Lake Lido and the narrowing of water bodies in the Lido SEZ, West Java.

Regarding the suspect, Rizal only mentioned the initials MNCLL.

He explained that related to the Lido SEZ case, the legal steps taken by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry were not only criminal but also the resolution of environmental disputes, although experts were still processing the calculation of environmental losses and the required recovery costs.

"Indonesians will calculate it later. Because we do not have the expertise to calculate environmental losses or recovery. So later there will be environmental losses and recovery, there will be two numbers later," he explained.

Previously, KLH found a number of alleged violations including development activities that did not match environmental documents at the Lido SEZ. In addition, development activities are also suspected of causing the silting of Lake Lido.

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry then stopped construction activities at the Lido West Java SEZ in February 2025.

Related to this, Hary Tanoesoedibjo as the owner of the MNC Group in a Hearing Meeting with Commission XII of the DPR on February 18 mentioned the construction of the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi Toll Road as the main factor in the silting of the Lake Lido area.

His party has tried to overcome sedimentation or silting in the lake area, including building mud retaining. He also claimed that the issue had occurred before PT MNC Land Lido took over the Lido area in 2013.
