KDM Calls Many Layoffs In West Java Due To Population And Industry

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said West Java was the province with the highest number of layoffs (PHK) throughout August 2025 nationally, due to its largest population and industry in Indonesia.

"So, for example, the industry is disrupted by one percent, we must be the biggest disturbed because the number is most compared to industries in other places that are less," said Dedi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 16.

Currently, said Dedi, investment in West Java is starting to grow again and most likely it will start running in October.

At the same time, Dedi said that his party would start implementing an online system of receiving and serving workers

"Next year, employees in Subang, in Bekasi will also start recruiting. So yes, yes, there are those who stop but there is also room to enter," he said.

Based on data from the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), nationally the number of workers affected by layoffs was recorded at 830 people.

This figure decreased by 288 people compared to July 2025, which recorded 1,118 workers.

Of these, about 261 people occurred in West Java Province, followed by South Sumatra with 113 workers who were laid off, and East Kalimantan with 100 workers being laid off.
