JAKARTA - A member of Kodim 0707/Wonosobo, Serda RS, died from a stab wound while trying to break up a dispute at a restaurant in Wonosobo Regency, Central Java.

Head of Information for Kodam IV/Diponegoro Colonel Andy Soelistyo in Semarang, Sunday, September 14, stated the death of TNI members on Saturday, September 13, after carrying out monitoring duties.

"The victim came to Resto Shaka in Jolontoro Village for dinner," said Colonel Andy Soelistyo, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, September 14.

According to him, at midnight, the victim heard a commotion in one of the restaurant's rooms.

"The victim saw a visitor making a fuss with the restaurant staff," he said.

He explained that the victim then intervened the dispute and directed the restaurant visitor to the parking lot.

The visitor, known to have the initials I, he said, turned out to go to his car and took a sharp weapon.

He said the perpetrator then attacked the victim from behind using a weapon to injure the face.

"After attacking the victim, the perpetrator immediately fled by car," he said.

Meanwhile, the injured Serda SR, he continued, received help from officers and restaurant visitors and was then rushed to the hospital.

He said the victim was declared dead after being rushed to the hospital in the early hours of Saturday.

The military police coordinated with the Wonosobo Police to investigate the incident.
