TNI Major General Amrin Ibrahim Becomes Pangdam XVII Cenderawasih

JAKARTA - Maj. Gen. Amrin Ibrahim officially became Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih replacing Major General TNI Rudi Puruwito who served as Assistant Logistics for the TNI Commander.

In a statement in Jayapura, Papua, Saturday, Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Colonel Inf Candra Kurniawan said the arrival of Major General TNI Amrin Ibrahim and Persit Chairman Kartika Chandra Kirana Region XVII/Cenderawasih Mrs. Surry Amrin Ibrahim was welcomed by soldiers, civil servants and Persit from the Makodam gate to the Makodam corridor with the corps tradition.

"This tradition is a series after handing over the position (Sertijab) of Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih on September 8, 2025 at Headquarters from Major General TNI Rudi Puruwito to Major General TNI Amrin Ibrahim," he said.

According to Candra, the welcoming of Major General TNI Amrin Ibrahim and Chairman of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana XVII/Cenderawasih Region Mrs. Surry Amrin Ibrahim took place on Wednesday (10/9).

Also attending the event were a number of high-ranking officials including Kasdam XVII/Cenderawasih Brigadier General Thevi A Zebua, Irdam XVII/Cenderawasih Brigadier General Sapto Widhi Nugroho, Danrem 172/PWY Brigadier General Tagor Rio Pasaribu.

Previously, the Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih certificate was led directly by the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Maruli Simanjuntak in Jakarta on Monday (8/9).
