DPR Will Convey To Prabowo About The Proposal For The Presidential Regulation On The Protection Of Online Transportation Workers

JAKARTA - The leadership of the DPR RI has confirmed that it will submit a union proposal regarding the issuance of presidential regulations (Perpres) regarding the protection of online transportation workers or platform workers to President Prabowo Subianto.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Speaker of the DPR Saan Mustopa and Sufmi Dasco Ahmad when receiving an audience at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 9.

According to Saan, so far President Prabowo Subianto has shown partiality to online workers, especially drivers. For example, when before Eid, demands related to THR, Preside Prabowo has fought for it.

"In my opinion, this is a commitment of partiality and initial willingness that has been started by the President," said Saan during the hearing.

Saan said, the DPR RI together with the government have the same commitment. Regarding how online workers from these various associations get protection, guarantees and of course what is much further is about welfare.

"From all of that, the estuary is how the welfare of online workers is, this welfare is getting better. So that future life, guarantees for children and so on, schools are getting better," he said.

"Well, what was conveyed earlier, whether later on the Presidential Decree, the Presidential Decree is related to the issue of protecting online workers, which regulates social security issues. Earlier in social security, for example, we have BPJS Employment. At least, for example, cover the most. The minimum is about accidents and deaths. Those two, right," added Saan.

Sufmi Dasco added that today he will face President Prabowo to convey the request of the unions. He hopes that the results submitted to the president will bear sweet fruit.

"At 12 o'clock I was asked to meet the President for another matter. But I can sound these soundings. We hope that the atmosphere will be good. Maybe later the results will be good. Later, if the results are good, I'll try to tell you," said Dasco.

"Hopefully. What we hope for together while carrying out the law, we are trying to talk about it. I haven't promised yet, but I will try my best because this is sudden. But because I happened to get the time, I will try my best," he concluded.
