Jambi Police Arrest Pedophil Who Acted In Places Of Worship, The Victim Is An 8-year-old Boy

Jambi Police Member managed to arrest a young pedophile with the initials A at a place of worship in Jambi City. A was involved in his depraved act against an 8-year-old girl.

"The perpetrator of sexual abuse against an 8-year-old girl or a pedophile who acted on the terrace of one of the houses of worship was arrested by the police on Sunday," said the Head of the Public Relations Section (Kasi) of the Jambi Police, Ipda Deddy Haryadi, when contacted by the media, Antara, September 7. The arrest of the perpetrator was also confirmed by the head of the local RT at the location of the incident when confirmed by the media.

"The perpetrator of sexual abuse against an 8-year-old girl or a pedophile who acted on the terrace of one of the houses of worship was arrested by the police on Sunday," said Head of the Jambi Police Public Relations Section (Kasi) Ipda Deddy Haryadi when contacted by the media, Antara, September 7.

The arrest of this perpetrator was also confirmed by the head of the local RT at the location of the incident when confirmed by the media.

Taufik explained that the arrest of the perpetrator started when one of the restaurant managers in Pasir Putih came to his house to tell him where the perpetrator was.

"The perpetrator was arrested at a restaurant still in the Pasir Putih area. Coincidentally, the manager went to the house this morning, that the perpetrator worked at the restaurant," explained Taufik.

Shortly thereafter, Taufik immediately contacted Bhabinkamtibmas and then residents, and together with a team from the South Jambi Police, went to the restaurant to secure the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, a female and child observer, Wenny Ira Reverawati, said the sexual violence case that occurred was a very terrible form of violence and damaged the rights of victims, especially children who should feel safe and protected in their surroundings.

The incident also shows how vulnerable children are in daily situations, even in places that should be places of worship and moral teaching. The actions of the perpetrators who take advantage of situations and lies to deceive the victim are crimes that cannot be justified.

The need for more awareness in society about the importance of education regarding the introduction of self-constraints, as well as how to equip children with the ability to protect themselves, is very important.

In addition, this case also reminds all parties of the importance of a strict legal system and law enforcement against perpetrators of sexual violence so that similar incidents do not happen again.

"We need to support victims, provide them with protection, and ensure justice can be served fairly and hopefully this case will serve as a warning for all of us to be increasingly alert to actions that could harm children," Wenny said.

It is important to provide space for victims to speak, feel safe, and get psychological assistance for recovery. Families, friends, and the surrounding community also need to provide support without judging. In addition, the authorities must ensure that the victim gets full protection, both physically and mentally.

If the victim is still afraid, it indicates that the protection and security system is not yet fully guaranteed. All of us, individually and collectively, must work hard to ensure victims feel safe, heard, and get the justice they need.
