YOGYAKARTA - Gadjah Mada University (UGM) has suspended the student with the initials DH, who is one of the suspects in the kidnapping and murder of Muhammad Ilham Pradipta, Head of the BRI Cempaka Putih Bank Branch in Central Jakarta.

UGM spokesperson I Made Andi Arsana stated that DH was registered as a new first-semester student in the Master of Management Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UGM's Jakarta campus.

"The person concerned has been suspended from all academic activities for the odd semester of 2025/2026 as a form of UGM's support for the legal process and ongoing investigation," said Andi Arsana, as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 27.

According to him, the decision to suspend DH was made through an official letter from the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., Ak., CA.

UGM, Andi said, expressed its deepest condolences for the passing of Muhammad Ilham Pradipta and strongly condemned all forms of violence.

"UGM fully respects the ongoing legal process, upholds the presumption of innocence, and is committed to maintaining integrity and professionalism," he said.

He emphasized that UGM supports all stakeholders in working according to regulations to ensure the case is quickly resolved. "We hope justice can be served for all parties," Andi said.
