9,000 Social Assistance Recipients In East Java Misappropriate Assistance For Online Gambling

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa revealed that there are around 9,000 more beneficiaries of social assistance (bansos) in the province for online gambling (judol).

"The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) noted that around 9,000 beneficiaries in East Java confirmed that their social assistance was indicated for judol with a total value of R p53 billion. Social assistance should not be used for online gambling. Take advantage of it to meet needs," he said when distributing productive social assistance and zakat to vulnerable economic communities in the Blitar Regency Hall, Tuesday, August 26, reported by ANTARA.

Khofifah revealed that the productive social and zakat assistance distributed in Blitar Regency reached IDR 5.7 billion.

Some of the social assistance distributed include PKH Plus social assistance, Social Assistance for Persons with Disabilities (ASPD), food, disability aids, KIP Ex-PPKS Jawara, BLT cigarette factory workers, compassion for social pillars, BUMDesa and delivery of productive zakat to ultra micro traders.

"Alhamdulillah, we continue to distribute social assistance and productive zakat. Hopefully, it can strengthen the socio-economics of the people of Blitar," said Governor Khofifah.

Khofifah revealed that the distribution of social assistance is a form of public accountability in the distribution of aid, which is entirely managed by the East Java Provincial Government.

Social assistance, he said, is a form of attention from the East Java Provincial Government to the community. "We hope that this assistance is right on target, right on benefits, and has a positive impact on the recipient and his family," he said.

The Governor of East Java hopes that the social assistance will be used as needed.

"Please use the social assistance received as best as possible as needed. Don't use it for things that are useless, let alone online gambling," he said.

Khofifah thanked the entire Forkompinda of Blitar Regency, which is the main reinforcement for the social pillars that are at the forefront of reaching the 1-2 decile community.

This is because, said Khofifah, as of September 1, BPS will go down to carry out a census and determine the data ranking welfare and poverty.

"I ask the regents and deputy regents for help and all of them ensure, because the BPS asked what they ate last week, what kind of side," he said.

With the spirit of collaboration, Khofifah emphasized to unite determination in facing the challenges of social welfare and accelerate poverty reduction.

One of them is by upholding human values as the basis for sharing and helping others.

"It can accelerate poverty alleviation, improve welfare and independence and entrepreneurship supported by social pillars in East Java," he said.
