BMKG: Light Rain Dominates Weather In Several Big Cities Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts light rain to dominate most major cities in Indonesia, followed by thick clouds in a number of areas, Monday, August 25.

BMKG weather forecaster, Satriana Roguna, said in a statement that Sumatra Island is expected to be thick cloudy in the areas of Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, Jambi, and Bandarlampung.

Then, Palembang, Medan, Pangkal Pinang, Padang, Tanjung Pinang, is expected to have the potential for light rain.

"Be aware of the potential for rain that can be accompanied by lightning for the Bengkulu area," said Satriana, quoted by ANTARA.

For Java Island, it is estimated that it will be cloudy in Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, Surabaya is expected to be thick cloudy. For Serang, Bandung and Semarang, it has the potential for light rain. Meanwhile, Jakarta is predicted to have moderate rain.

Meanwhile, for the islands of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, in the Denpasar and Kupang areas, it is estimated that they are thick cloudy. Meanwhile, the Mataram area is expected to be cloudy.

Meanwhile, on the island of Kalimantan, it is estimated that it is thick cloudy for the Banjarmasin area. Meanwhile, the Tanjung Selor, Samarinda, Palangka Raya, and Pontianak areas are expected to have light rain.

"Then, Sulawesi Island is estimated to be thick cloudy for the Gorontalo area and Makassar area," he said.

As for the Palu, Manado, and Kendari areas, light rain is expected. The rain is expected to fall in Mamuju.

For eastern Indonesia, it is estimated that light rain will fall in Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayawijaya, and Merauke. As for the Jayapura region, it is estimated that there is the potential for moderate rain.
