JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) received a request for protection from Prada Lucky Saputra Namo's mother in the middle of investigating her son, who is a TNI soldier from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), allegedly died of being abused by his senior.

Deputy Chairperson of LPSK Susilaningtias explained that the requests submitted by the family included a number of forms of protection, ranging from monitoring, mentoring during the legal process, restoring psychological services, to medical services.

"We are present in Kupang to ensure that the rights of witnesses and the families of the victims are fulfilled. Our job is to hear directly from them and verify the progress of the legal process," he said in a statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday, which was confiscated by Antara.

LPSK has taken proactive steps in responding to this case. On August 13 '16, 2025, LPSK went directly to Nagekeo Regency, Ende Regency, to Kupang City to collect information from families, witnesses, and law enforcement officers handling the case.

Susilaningtias explained that in a series of field investigations, LPSK met directly with Prada Lucky's mother in Kupang and several witnesses who had been examined by the Ende and Denpom Kupang Military Police Subdetres.

LPSK, he continued, also conducted a survey of the location of the incident to dig up additional information and map out potential risks for witnesses and victims' families.

According to Susilaningtias, the fulfillment of witness rights includes not only physical protection, but also procedural aspects such as transportation support, accommodation, to psychological access.

"We were present based on information on the network of Friends of Witnesses and Victims as well as related agencies in NTT. We want to ensure that the voices of witnesses and the families of the victims are not neglected," he said.

In addition to focusing on family and witnesses, LPSK also encourages the disclosure of facts through the mechanism of witness perpetrators who cooperate (JC). LPSK hopes that of the 20 suspected perpetrators, some are willing to cooperate with investigators to reveal the truth.

"We hope that the TNI Military Police can convey JC's rights to the perpetrators who want to speak up. LPSK is ready to assist if someone chooses the road," said Susilaningtias.

According to him, the status of JC is an important instrument to uncover the case of Prada Lucky's death because with this status, the law enforcement process can find material facts more quickly while strengthening the evidence.

Prada Lucky passed away on Wednesday, August 6 at the Aeramo Hospital, Nagekeo Regency, NTT, after receiving intensive care. The cause of death is strongly suspected to have been abused by a number of seniors. Military Police Investigators of the Udayana Military Command have named 20 soldiers as suspects.
