TNI Deploy Logistics Assistance For Gazans On The 80th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia

JAKARTA - The TNI through the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force managed to land logistical assistance using the drop or dropwater method for residents in the Gaza Strip, Palestine right at the celebration of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day.

"This success is a historic record, as well as a special gift to coincide with the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia," said Head of the Defense Information Bureau (Infohan) of the Secretariat General (Setjen) of the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) Brigadier General Frega Wenas Inkiriwang as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 18.

Frega explained that the delivery of logistical assistance was due to the cooperation of the TNI, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu), and the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas).

In this mission, he said, the TNI deployed two Super Hercules C-130J aircraft to carry logistics in the form of food, medicine and clothing.

The plane departed from King Abdullah II Air Base, Amman, Jordan at 10:37 p.m. local time to carry out a waters drop in the Gaza Strip.

"After carrying out the aid drop mission, the two planes landed safely at the aju base at 12.25 p.m. Jordan time," Frega said.

It was recorded that the total assistance provided by Indonesia was 800 tons. The assistance was deployed at 10 confirmed points in the Gaza region which were safe.

At the same time, the Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih II Task Force Colonel Puguh Yulianto conveyed that the mission went smoothly.

He explained that this mission was carried out on the direct orders of President Prabowo Subianto as a tangible manifestation of Indonesia's commitment to upholding international humanitarian solidarity.

"The success of humanitarian missions at this moment of independence is not only a national pride, but also clear evidence of Indonesia's contribution to world peace," explained Puguh.
