JAKARTA Homeless people are still the largest group in the category of Persons with Social Welfare Problems (PMKS) or Social Welfare Service Providers (PPKS) for seven months of control in the West Jakarta area.
Head of the West Jakarta Social Service Sub-dept., Suprapto, said that out of a total of 990 PMKS, 400 of them were homeless people.
"PMKS that was caught the most during that period was homeless, namely 400 people," Suprapto said in Jakarta, Sunday, August 10.
After being homeless, the next category that was caught was 268 people, 62 people buskers, and the rest were categorized as other.
PMKS control was carried out from January to July 2025, with the highest number in July, namely 182 people. As for the details, January 107 people, February 121 people, March 145 people, April 113 people, May 167 people, and June 155 people.
"The reach is carried out at PPKS vulnerable points in eight sub-districts throughout West Jakarta, such as red lights or road intersections," Suprapto said.
He added that PMKS screening was carried out to enforce DKI Jakarta Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order.
