TNI Commander Appoints 3 Commander Of The TNI Elite Troops To Be Commander Of The Corps

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto appointed three commanders of the elite TNI troops to become commanders of the corps according to the decision of the TNI Commander Number Kep/1033/VIII/2025.

In the decree, it was stated that Major General TNI Djon Afriandi, who previously served as Commander General of the Special Forces Command (Danjen Kopassus) of the Indonesian Army, is now appointed as Commander of the Kopassus (Pangkopassus).

In addition, Major General TNI (Mar) Endi Supardi, who previously served as Marine Commander (Dankormar), is now appointed Commander of the Marine Corps (Pangkormar).

The last one is Marshal Muda (Marsda) Deny Muis, who previously served as Commander of the Rapid Action Forces (Dankopasgat), was appointed commander in chief as Commander of the Kopasgat Corps (Pangkorpasgat).

Head of the Information Center of the TNI Headquarters (Kapuspen) TNI Headquarters Major General Kristomei Sianturi confirmed the decision letter of the TNI Commander.

With the increase in the status of the position, it is estimated that all commanders of the elite troops who previously served as two stars will receive promotions to three stars.

However, it is not certain when the promotion process will take place.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto officially made the Commander of the Indonesian Navy's Marine Corps, Commander of the Army Special Forces Command, and Commander of the Indonesian Air Force's Rapid Action Forces Corps as high-ranking three-star TNI officers.

The policy is stipulated in Presidential Regulation (Pepres) Number 84 of 2025 concerning Amendments to Presidential Decree Number 66 of 2019 concerning the Organizational Structure of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, which was signed by President Prabowo in Jakarta, on August 5, 2025.

In Presidential Decree No. 84/2025, a copy of which was received by ANTARA in Jakarta, Friday, President Prabowo also changed the naming of the leadership of the Marine Corps, Kopassus, and Kopasgat which were originally referred to as "commandants of generals" with the rank of two stars to become "panglimas" with three stars. This provision is contained in Article 59A paragraph (2), Article 59B paragraph (2), and Article 59C paragraph (3), as well as the attachment section of Presidential Decree No. 84/2025.
