JAKARTA - Former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil has complied with investigators' summons to undergo a DNA test at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri). The test is part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged defamation case he filed against a woman named Lisa Mariana.

Ridwan Kamil's attorney, Muslim Jaya Butarbutar, stated that investigators will collect samples for the DNA test. His client is ready to follow all applicable legal procedures.

"The samples are usually taken from blood and saliva," Muslim told VOI on Thursday, August 7.

However, he stated that he did not rule out the possibility that other types of samples would be taken. However, this can only be confirmed after investigators begin the process.

"But we will only find out later because it hasn't been carried out yet, we are still waiting," he said.

Muslim stated that Ridwan Kamil is cooperative and will respect whatever the results of the DNA test are. He hopes this examination will expedite the resolution of the case, which has been public since last March.

"According to the schedule, the sooner the better. The sooner the better," he said.

In addition to Ridwan Kamil, Lisa Mariana and her child are also scheduled to undergo DNA sampling as part of the investigation.

Ridwan Kamil previously reported Lisa Mariana to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim Polri) on Friday, April 11, 2025, for alleged defamation. The report is registered under number LP/B/174/IV/2025/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI.

He reported Lisa for alleged violations of several articles in Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE), including Article 51 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 35, Article 48 paragraphs (1) and (2) in conjunction with Article 32 paragraphs (1) and (2), and Article 45 paragraph (4) in conjunction with Article 27A.

This case is being handled by the Cyber Crime Directorate (Dittipidsiber) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police.

The case began with a post by Lisa Mariana on her Instagram account on Tuesday, March 26, 2025. In the post, she shared a screenshot of what was allegedly a private conversation between herself and Ridwan Kamil. Lisa also claimed to be pregnant with the former Governor of West Java's child.
