Cabinet Session, Prabowo Highlights Global Uncertainty To The Impact Of US Tariffs

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of facing all challenges calmly and establishing strategic coordination as a unit for the sake of the nation.

When opening the Plenary Cabinet Session at the Presidential Office, Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex, Wednesday, August 6, Prabowo highlighted the many conflicts that occurred in various countries.

The challenges of global dynamics include the tariff of the United States (US), which Indonesia can face calmly and consider the best solution.

"Not to mention we are facing world geoeconomic conditions, the uncertainty posed by the tariffs set by the US. We are dealing with it calmly," he said.

He also appreciated the performance of the government's economic team which was able to overcome this complicated situation. According to him, this is the result of solid coordination between ministries and institutions.

"I thank our economic team. I thank you brothers and sisters for working with the team as a good team. All are implementing it," he added.

"We negotiate, we negotiate, we are not emotional, we are not provoked. We understand that we have a big interest," he continued.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the government was given a mandate from the people and was tasked with protecting all the people, including the workers and their families. Therefore, every decision must prioritize these interests.

"The task of the Indonesian government is to protect the Indonesian people, protect our workers and their families. For that, we have reached the best point we can achieve at this time," he concluded.
