MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Gunung Rinjani National Park Center (TNGR) has again repaired the hiking trail in the Mount Rinjani area in order to improve the safety of visitors.

"The improvement of this hiking trail is carried out at vulnerable points, starting from Pelawan Sembalun to Segara Anak Lake," said the Head of the NTB NTB Yerman TNGR Center, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 29.

Repairing this hiking trail involves joint officers consisting of the TNI, local porters and volunteers as well as other parties. The purpose of improving the hiking trail is to ensure the safety and comfort of climbers, because each footing is a shared responsibility so that climbers return safely.

"This is one of the efforts to improve the safety of climbers in the Mount Rinjani area," he said.

As for the improvement of the climbing route facilities carried out, such as the installation of stairs, installing rope and making traps so that rocks become stairs and installing iron security on the hiking trail.

"The team is currently still doing work," he said.

Previously, his party also repaired the Torean hiking trail and the Senaru route in the Mount Rinjani area.

"This activity is one of our efforts to improve the safety of visitors to Mount Rinjani," he said.

Improvements made on the hiking trail, said Yarman, the maintenance team has completed the path widening work in the Banyu Urip area, including the installation of stones and the construction of traps around the end of the lower handle line.

"The Torean hiking trail is known as the Jurassic Park of Mount Rinjani which offers stunning natural beauty, but this beauty is also accompanied by terrain challenges that require special attention," he said.
