Bali Governor Wayan Koster conveyed that the repair of the subsidence road (sinkhole) in Bajera Village, Selemadeg District, Tabanan Regency, which is Gilimanuk-Denpasar's main route, has been completed.
"The Gilimanuk-Denpasar national road, which broke down, Friday, July 18, 2025, today, has been completed," said WayanKoster, Friday, July 18.
It is known that landslides occurred on the Antosari 'Megati national road section, precisely at kilometer 38 + 725 in front of Pasar Bajera on Monday (7/7).
The incident, which was caused by the collapse of an irrigation channel that crossed under the road, disrupted the vital access of the Gilimanuk-Denpasar route and immediately received attention from the government.
Right after the incident, the Bali Provincial Government immediately coordinated with the Head of the PU Ministry Street Hall, and finally the government began to repair the 8-meter-deep subsidence road.
"The road will be reopened functionally on Saturday, July 19, starting at 08.00 WITA," said Governor Koster.
Previously, when coordinating, the Governor received an answer to repair the road on the Gilimanuk-Denpasar route, which could only be completed in three weeks.
However, because access is important and has an impact on traffic, especially logistics and tourism, which must take another route that is more risky, Koster also asks for the work to be accelerated.
"Because in and out of need of procurement improvement, I have asked for repairs as soon as possible, maybe three weeks but if possible two weeks quickly, because the soil condition is unstable and must be studied again so it can't be fast," said Koster.
But finally with the completion of the improvement, a total of 13 days of problems have been resolved.
"Residents will return to crossing the national road starting Saturday and traffic returning to normal," said Koster.

Previously, during the repair of traffic, it was disrupted, especially in tri-axis vehicles such as tronton trucks that were forced to reduce loads, change smaller units, or rotate to North Bali to East Bali to reach the city.
The Bali Provincial Government itself admitted that it would be present when the road was reopened to see firsthand post-improvement conditions.
