JAKARTA - The Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2025 event officially ended after 25 days. Marketing Director of PT Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Ralph Scheunemann, revealed that parking management is still the main homework (PR) that needs to be addressed for next year's implementation.

Every time the Jakarta Fair is held, traffic jams around the JIExpo Kemayoran area almost always occur. One of the reasons is the queue of vehicles that want to enter the official parking area inside JIExpo.

Not only that, many vehicles are also seen parked unofficially on the banks of Jalan Benjamin Sueb and Jalan HBR Motik. This condition also exacerbates traffic jams around the event location.

"Indeed, the problem is parking. Actually, our parking lot is already one of the largest in Jakarta. But, yes, we are also holding the biggest event in Jakarta, even in Southeast Asia," Ralph told reporters, Sunday, July 13 evening.

Ralph said that his party had considered the option of adding parking space outside the JIExpo area. However, the results of the internal evaluation show that most visitors are reluctant to park far from the exhibition area.

"Indonesian people like it when they can park as close as they can. They are not used to parking outside or using shuttle buses and the like. Well, education like this is what we are developing," he explained.

According to Ralph, the construction of additional parking lots outside JIExpo has been included in the internal study radar. However, his party also considers that large-scale parking needs only occur when the Jakarta Fair takes place.

"We are currently reviewing the possibility of building a new parking facility. But there may be other more efficient solutions, considering that parking needs like this are seasonal in nature," he added.

So far, the committee is still providing space for community organizations (ormas) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to manage parking outside the JIExpo area. However, this management must be carried out in coordination with the police and related officers.

"Even though there is parking outside and is managed by NGOs, we are still coordinating with them, as well as with the police and PPK. This is also part of the multiply effect. They also get fortune. But yes, don't let the parking price be pegged arbitrarily, it must be adjusted," said Ralph.

Jakarta Fair 2025 which took place from June 19 to July 13 this year recorded a total number of visitors reaching 5.9 million people. The total transaction value or circulation of money during the event is said to reach Rp 7.3 trillion.

It was recorded that 2,550 companies with 1,550 booths participated in the Jakarta Fair this year. Around 25 thousand people were involved in this activity, ranging from promotion staff, cleaning staff, security, to other technical staff.
