Serang Police Arrest 4 Men Obscene Woman With Disabilities

Serang Police have arrested four men from Cisait Village, Kragilan District, Serang, Banten, for committing the crime of molestation against a woman with mental disabilities.

Serang Police Chief AKBP Condro Sasongko said the four suspects for sexual abuse were with the initialsTRS (27), MA (36), RO (32), and SU (31).

"The four suspects were detained by officers of the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) yesterday (Thursday) night in two different locations," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 11.

This tragic incident occurred on Tuesday (20/5) at the house of one of the suspects. Sadly, the victims and the perpetrators still live in the same village and know each other.

"Even with one of the perpetrators next door," said Kordro.

The incident began when the four suspects were holding a liquor party. The victim, who had mental retardation, came to the house with the aim of taking ice cubes in the refrigerator in the kitchen.

"When the victim was going to the kitchen room, one of the perpetrators pulled his hand and pushed the victim until he was cornered, that's where obscenity occurred against the victim," he said.

The depraved act was finally revealed when one of the victim's friends who was waiting outside the house saw the last perpetrator was committing his actions, and at that time he immediately reported the incident to the victim's parents.

Armed with reports from the family and sufficient evidence, PPA Unit personnel led by Iptu Iwan Rudini immediately moved to secure the perpetrators.

"Two perpetrators were arrested while hanging out in front of the workshop, while the other two perpetrators who were factory workers were secured at their place of work," he said.

The four suspects were charged with Article 82 of the Child Protection Law as updated in Article 82 paragraph (1) of Law Number 17 of 2016.

They face a minimum prison sentence of five years, a maximum of 15 years, and a maximum fine of IDR 5 billion.
