KPK Chairman Regarding Ridwan Kamil's Summons Regarding The BJB Corruption Case: Just A Matter Of Time

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Setyo Budiyanto, spoke about the summons of former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil regarding allegations of corruption in the procurement of advertisements at Bank Jawa Barat and Banten (BJB) or BJB. Setyo said the summons was only a matter of time.

"So indeed, until now Bank Jabar, yes, it is still focused on other examinations. There are witnesses, there are then maybe they want to conduct an examination or review of documents, data, and others to be sure. But I am sure investigators will definitely determine the schedule for summons," said Setyo at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, July 10.

"Because to be able to account for and clarify the search activities that have been carried out. Maybe it's just a matter of time," he continued.

Setyo was reluctant to comment on how long Ridwan Kamil's summons would slow down the process of investigating the BJB corruption case. However, he ensured that the KPK had a schedule for activities for handling this case.

"It will be adjusted later. If it's a long time, it's definitely the investigators who already have a timeline. As long as everything is fulfilled, it will definitely be accelerated. Just wait time," said Setyo.

Regarding the indication whether RK was involved in the case and had the opportunity to become a suspect, Setyo explained, investigators must have considered after receiving information from witnesses. Although previously there had been a search at RK's residence, Setyo considered that this would not necessarily make the former Mayor of Bandung.

"Yes, the search did not then confirm that the person concerned must be a suspect. The search was only to find and prove that there may be a connection with the previous information," said Setyo.

"When it comes to the suspect, it will definitely be based on the consideration of the examination of information, then evidence and others and that goes through the process," he added.

Previously, former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil was said to be summoned regarding allegations of corruption in the procurement of advertisements at Bank Jawa Barat and Banten (BJB) or BJB. The name of the Golkar Party politician entered the vortex of the case because his house was ransacked last March.

From this forced attempt, investigators then confiscated a large motorbike in the form of a Royal Enfield to a Mercedes Benz of 280 SL or Mercy Pagoda.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said investigators would certainly ask anyone for information to collect evidence. Thus, the public is asked to continue to monitor the investigation of the two alleged corruption allegations.

"We make sure that whoever is needed by investigators for questioning will be summoned for examination," he said.

"In this case, the KPK has also examined other witnesses, even the KPK has also confiscated many assets which are suspected to be the result of the corruption crime," concluded Budi.
