Vietnamese Taxi Collision With Iron Fence To Restrict Jalan Matraman Raya Near East Jakarta Police, Car Crash

JAKARTA - A Vietnamese taxi unit had a single accident crashing into an iron fence dividing the road on Jalan Matraman Raya, precisely near the East Jakarta Police Headquarters, Matraman District, East Jakarta.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night, July 9, 2025, at around 21.30 WIB. The taxi looked wrecked, unable to operate after hitting the fence.

Based on observations, the Vietnamese taxi numbered B 1315 SCX was seen stuck on top of the road divider. Meanwhile, the white fence, which functions as a road divider, was destroyed so that it was not shaped.

An eye witness, Gholib (21) said the Vietnamese taxi was suspected to have lacked concentration when driving in a fairly fast condition.

"Suddenly the taxi went rather fast and hit the fence. Maybe the driver lacked concentration," he told reporters, Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Gholib added that vehicle accidents often occur at that location.

He said a similar accident like a car hitting a fence had occurred a few months earlier.

"Indeed, there are frequent accidents here. A few months ago it happened, but the one that crashed was a private car," he said.

When he saw a Vietnamese taxi accident, Gholib contacted the firefighters to evacuate the Vietnamese taxi.

He admitted that he was worried because a Vietnamese taxi car that was a type of electric vehicle could cause an explosion.

"I deliberately called the fire department, because this is an electric car, so it's safe," explained Gholib.

Not only that, Gholib revealed that the traffic situation at the location was indeed jammed.

In addition, a lot of motorbike parking in front of the Field fish market, General Urip, has closed half of the road so that the traffic flow becomes stagnant.

Even though he hit the metal fence that divides the road, there were no casualties as a result of the single Vietnamese taxi accident.

"The victim was not there, but the driver looked shocked. Apart from the damaged fence, maybe only the car was part of the chassis in front of it was crushed," he said.

During the evacuation of the Vietnamese taxi, it was also seen that the fire truck was trying to pull the car from the scene. However, when they were about to be taken to the repair site, the Vietnamese taxi driver and his partner refused because they were waiting for an internal towing truck to the location.
