Teacher Of Ngaji Suspect Of Child Abuse In Tebet Threatened With 15 Years In Prison And A Fine Of IDR 5 Billion

The alleged Koran teacher with the initials AF to 10 children in Tebet, South Jakarta, faces up to 15 years in prison. Head of the Women and Children Service Unit (Kanit PPA) of the South Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Citra Ayu Civilia, said the suspect was subject to Article 76E Junto Article 82 Paragraphs 1 and 2 concerning the Protection of Minors.

"The suspect is involved in a criminal act of sexual abuse against minors as stipulated in Article 76E Junto Article 82 Paragraphs 1 and 2 concerning the Protection of minors," said AKP Citra Ayu Civilia, ANTARA, Wednesday, July 9.

He explained that the two articles stated that the perpetrators of the crime who committed the alleged case threatened a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 5 billion.

He explained that the perpetrator had carried out the depraved act since 2021. To smooth out his depraved act, the perpetrator intimidated his victim and threatened him by slapping him not to complain to his parents. The perpetrator also gave the victim Rp10 to 25 thousand in cash.

"The suspect's method was to invite the victim's child to enter the living room which has been the place for the Koran. So, the male student recited outside, then was told to go home ahead, the female student recited the Koran later," he said.

Previously, the police arrested a Koran teacher who was suspected of molesting 10 underage students, in Kebon Baru Village, Tebet District, South Jakarta on Saturday, June 28.

The police revealed that teaching hash became the mode of a Koran teacher with the initials AF who sexually abused a minor in Kebon Baru, Tebet, South Jakarta.

The arrest of the suspect was based on the police report LP/B/2301/VI/2025/SPKT/POLRES METRO JAKSEL/POLDA METRO JAYA.

The PPA Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police has provided assistance to the victims.
