Rizieq Shihab Et Al. Request Suspension Of Detention Before Eid, Judge Thinks

JAKARTA - Rizireq Shihab's team of lawyers filed a request for suspension of detention. The reason is related to Eid al-Fitr.

"We submitted a request for a suspension of detention on the grounds that the other defendant in the same case was not detained, then would not lose evidence, was ready to attend the trial until the verdict, then humanitarian considerations, as well as before the Eid Al-Fitr," said Rizieq Shihab's lawyer, Aziz Yanuar during the trial. at the East Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, May 5.

Aziz said the request for suspension of detention had been submitted some time ago. Responding to the request, the presiding judge Khadwanto said he had not received the application letter.

"The Assembly has not accepted it. After we received it, we will discuss it. Later it will be discussed," said Khadwanto.

Usa lawyer Aziz Yanuar said that the request for suspension of detention was not only for Rizieq Shihab. The same application was filed for all the defendants in the series of crowd cases and the results of the UMMI Hospital swab tests.

"To all the defendants we submitted a request for a suspension of detention on the grounds that I have described. The reasons are humanitarian, they will not run away, are ready to attend trial until the verdict, the reason for Eid al-Fitr, and there is a guarantor, inshaallah," said Aziz.
