JAKARTA - Mossad chief David Barnea said Israel had caused "significant damage" in Iran during a 12-day attack last month, in comments released by the Israeli Prime Minister's Office.
However, the Mossad Chief indicated Israel needed to continue its operations on Iran, upon receiving Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Mossad Headquarters.
"We are committed to continuing to act decisively to prevent future threats from Iran against Israel and seek to maximize the strategic opportunities that exist before us," said Barnea, as reported by The Times of Israel July 3.
Meanwhile, PM Netanyahu told the Mossad leadership, the operations of the pager and walkie-talkie against Hezbollah in September 2024 "moved everything that happened later, the removal (Leader of Hezbollah Hassan) Nasrallah, the collapse (regime of Syrian President Bashar) Assad, and then our joint operation to eliminate direct existential threats" in Iran, the PMO said.
Earlier, PM Netanyahu praised Israel's attack on Iran on the code "Raising Nation" on June 13 as "perfect execution", at the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) General Staff Forum.
During the meeting, PM Netanyahu thanked Israeli Defense Minister Katz and IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir "for the execution of the tasks we set perfectly."
