The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the procurement of goods and services which led to the granting of gratuities to the former Secretary General of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Ma'ruf Cahyono.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said two witnesses were questioned at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Monday, June 23.

They are the Grandson of History as the Official of Procurement of Goods/Services for Delivery and Multiplication at the Secretariat General of the MPR RI in 2020-2021 and Fahmi Idris who is a former Working Group of the Goods and Services Procurement Work Unit (POKJA-UKPBJ) of the Secretariat General of the MPR RI.

"The witnesses were present. They were asked for information regarding the procurement of goods and services in the tempus where the case or receipt of gratuities occurred," Budi told reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, June 24.

The anti-corruption commission has not yet specified a single suspect. However, a VOI source said the figure was the former Secretary General of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Ma'ruf Cahyono.

As for this case, Ma'ruf was charged with Article 12B of the Anti-Corruption Law. He is suspected of receiving gratuities of up to IDR 17 billion.

However, this number can still increase. This is because the calculation and search of witnesses are still ongoing.
