Prabowo Asks Jakarta To Joint Venture To Build Giant Sea Wall, Stafsus Pramono: Of Course Obey Central Directives

JAKARTA - The Special Staff of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Cyril wary Hakim (Chico Hakim) responded to President Prabowo Subianto's statement asking DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to participate in disbursing the Jakarta APBD in building a giant sea embankment or Giant Sea Wall.

Chico stated that the DKI Provincial Government is ready to follow Prabowo's direction to help finance the development of Giant Sea Walll.

"The point is that the DKI Jakarta provincial government will certainly comply with the direction of the central government led by Pak Prabowo," Chico told reporters, Friday, June 13.

Moreover, Chico continued, Prabowo had also discussed this through his envoy to meet Pramono. Thus, the DKI Provincial Government is also ready to coordinate further with the central government.

"He (Prabowo) some time before that day his speech meeting with Pak Pram had also sent an envoy to talk to Pak Pram and Pak Pram agreed. We'll see from there," said Chico.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto had searched for the presence of DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at the closing of the ICI 2025 infrastructure conference. Prabowo asked the DKI Provincial Government to jointly jointly through the APBD in the construction of a mega giant sea wall project.

Prabowo explained that the giant sea embankment project, which stretches for 500 kilometers on the north coast of Java, from Banten to Gresik, East Java, requires construction costs of 80 billion US dollars, including in Jakarta Bay specifically of 8 billion US dollars to 10 billion US dollars.

"Especially for Jakarta Bay, it is possible that 8 (billion) to 10 billion dollars (US), if 8 to 10 billion dollars, I think we can afford it. Is there a DKI Governor here? No? Not present? Wow. Try investigating why not attend," said President Prabowo jokingly, in his remarks when closing the 2025 International Conference on Infrastructure (ICI) at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, June 12.

Prabowo said he had met with Pramono a few days ago, and sent envoys to ensure the DKI Provincial Government supports the construction of the mega project that has been planned since 1995.

The former Minister of Defense admitted that he had received the DKI Provincial Government's answer and was said to be ready to support the giant sea embankment which has been included in the national strategic project.

"I got the 'support' answer. Alhamdulillah. Because the DKI APBD is very large. So I said DKI must be recurrent. The central government is in the decay," said Prabowo.

Prabowo also projects the APBD from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government for the construction of a giant sea embankment of at least US$8 billion, which can be allocated annually for US$1 billion.
