While chairing the Detenté Case Follow-up Meeting in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 11, Deputy Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections (Wamenko Kumham Imipas) RI Otto Hasibuan said Indonesia should not lose the case.
"We have to show that we have evidence, we have a legal basis, and we will not let anyone harm the state," Otto said, as quoted from a confirmed statement in Jakarta, Thursday, June 12, which was confiscated by Antara.

Nofli added, the importance of coordination between agencies and a comprehensive approach in handling the case.
"This is not just an arbitration issue, but concerns the state. Therefore, criminal, civil and international approaches must go hand in hand," said Nofli.
The case began with a satellite procurement contract and communication device in 2018 with Detenté. However, the results of an audit by the Indonesian Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) showed that the goods received by the Ministry of Defense were only worth around Rp. 1.9 billion, far below the contract value of Rp. 350 billion.
"We received items that turned out to be just ordinary cellphones, not satellite communication devices as promised," said Marsda TNI Hendrikus Haris Haryanto.

For this reason, the Indonesian government is now preparing a lawsuit for canceling the contract at the ICC on the basis that the contract is legally flawed and based on fraud.
Head of the Legal Bureau of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense Helmy Zulfadli Lubis believes the element of fraud is very clear because the contract is known to have been signed by a foreign national from Hungary who is now suspected of being the main perpetrator.
The government is currently also investigating the whereabouts of the perpetrators through diplomatic channels and international cooperation. Therefore, the cancellation of the contract is considered a legal step and needs to be taken immediately.
"We are taking legal and diplomatic steps. There is no compromise against parties that are detrimental to the state," said Deputy Minister Otto.
