Pramono Bans Disposal Of Sacrificial Waste Into The River: Danger To The Environment

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked the organizers of the slaughtering of sacrificial animals not to throw animal waste into the river, thus having a negative impact on the environment and health.

"I ask that the handling of sacrificial animals will not have an impact on the community, especially the cuts that are put into the river," said Pramono in Jakarta, Monday, June 2.

He also instructed the mayor, especially in Central Jakarta, to regulate the sale of sacrificial animals so as not to disturb public comfort.

"I specifically gave orders to the Mayor of Central Jakarta because some of those places were used in the middle of the road, in parks and so on. The sacrificial animals should not be there to be put in order," he said.

The DKI Provincial Government through the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency appealed to all residents and sacrificial committees in Jakarta to apply the principles of Eco Qurban in the implementation of sacrificial worship on Eid al-Adha 1446 H, one of which is not throwing waste into sewers.

This appeal refers to DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 10 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Sacrificial Slaughter.

The governor's regulation regulates how to deal with liquid and solid waste that can be done to minimize environmental pollution.

The application of Eco Qurban is the practice of organizing sacrificial animal slaughter which is based on the protection and management of the environment carried out on-site or at the cutting site.

In principle, do not pollute and pollute the environment, either during implementation or after so that there should be no waste such as blood, stomach contents, or other parts of the sacrificial animal thrown carelessly into ditches, sewers or rivers.

If the sacrificial waste is not handled properly, it can cause an unpleasant odor, disturb the comfort of residents, even endanger health and damage the water agency ecosystem.
