PSI Criticizes Anies Support Food To Other Areas, Gerindra Defends: Don't Understand, Learn First PSI!

JAKARTA - Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI) criticized DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, who recently often went directly to the regions in procuring food contracts.

PSI said Anies was unethical because he seemed to have garnered support for the 2024 presidential election. However, Gerindra denied this. DKI Regional House of Representatives Gerindra Faction member Mohamad Taufik said PSI was just talking.

"PSI does not understand, learn first PSI. I am talking a little harshly because I think he said the wrong thing (PSI)", said Taufik to reporters, Monday, May 3.

Taufik considered PSI to criticize without any basis. According to Taufik, Anies' arrival in various regions was carried out to maintain the supply of foodstuffs for the citizens of the capital city.

"This food contract is a guarantee for food supply. Indeed, Jakarta has rice fields? There are Marunda and Cakung, at the most, how many hectares have they been. What has Jakarta done with food-producing regions has finally been done", he said.

As is known, Anies' safari started when he participated in the harvest activities in Cilacap Regency, Central Java, on Friday, April 16. This big harvest is a contract collaboration in the food sector between PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya and Gapoktan Sumber Makmur Cilacap.

Anies continued his journey to meet with Kuningan Regent Acep Purnama to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the food sector. He also visited his parents on Saturday, April 17th.

On Sunday, April 25, Anies left for Ngawi, East Java to work together again to expand the absorption of unhulled rice for rice supply in Jakarta.

Not only dealing with food contracts, but Anies also visited the Darussalam Gontor Modern Cottage, Ponorogo, East Java. Anies also stayed overnight in Madiun City and met the mayor, as well as meeting with the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

Yesterday, Anies received the arrival of Sumedang Regent Dony Ahmad Munir and Sumedang Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman at the DKI Jakarta City Hall. Anies and Dony plan to increase cooperation in various fields between the Sumedang Regency Government and Jakarta, from food to tourism.

Jakarta Regional House of Representatives PSI faction member William Aditya Sarana criticized Anies's move. William said, rather than bothering to sign a memorandum of understanding on food security, it would be better to focus on working in Jakarta.

"Mr. Anies should focus on working in DKI Jakarta, considering that his position will expire next year, but none of his campaign promises have been completed", William said, Tuesday, April 27.

William suspects that Anies' visit to West Java to East Java is to seek support for advancing in the 2024 Presidential Election. However, according to him, Anies must complete his work in Jakarta if he wants to smooth out his intentions in political contestation in 2024.

"His term of office expires next year, it is impossible to complete his campaign promise. Seeing such conditions, it is difficult to be elected President of the Republic of Indonesia because he failed in DKI Jakarta", he said.
