Manuver Budi Arie Potentially Disrupts Prabowo Subianto And PDIP's Relations

JAKARTA Political communication expert, Hendri Satrio assessed that the case of alleged recording of the voice of the Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi, who alluded to the PDI-P (PDIP) and the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Budi Gunawan regarding online gambling could interfere with President Prabowo Subianto's relationship with PDIP.

"Pak Prabowo is trying to build a good relationship with PDIP, there are even rumors that he will be present at the PDIP Congress. If this issue is not clarified immediately, it could interfere with the big plan," he said, Friday, May 30, 2025.

Hensat, Hendri Satrio's nickname, reminded that in the era of social media, public officials must be extra careful. Therefore, the alleged voice recording similar to Budi Arie is a lesson for all government officials to be more careful in communicating.

"When talking on the phone, don't be careless. Moreover, if I'm not mistaken, recording without a court permit is against the law, let alone spreading it. But until now, there has been no news that Budi Arie wants to sue the recorder. This adds to the question mark," he explained.

The founder of the KedaiKOPI survey institute also asked President Prabowo Subianto to immediately reorganize his cabinet communication strategy from upstream to downstream by emphasizing the importance of public officials learning from previous cases.

Mr. Prabowo must understand this. Communication issues must be resolved from above first. Otherwise, issues such as online gambling or drinking two liter milk will continue to appear and interfere. In the era of social media, everyone can become a medium. Officials must be careful, both in speaking and acting. Otherwise, small things can become a time bomb," added Hensat.

Previously, PDIP DPP Chairman Deddy Sitorus revealed that PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri was offended by the statement of former Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi, who said the white-nosed bull party was involved in online gambling issues.
