Police Urged Again To Handle Denny Indrayana's Case Regarding Alleged Payment Gateway Corruption

JAKARTA - Director of Indonesian Political Houses (RPI), Fernando Emas, urged the National Police Headquarters to again handle the alleged corruption case of Payment Gateway which allegedly cost the state Rp32.09 billion. Ironically, the case stalled for 10 years.

In fact, Denny Indrayana has been named a suspect in the alleged payment gateway corruption case.

However, until now his status is still hanging. Although he has been named a suspect by police investigators, the case has not yet gone to trial.

"Denny Indrayana must immediately be brought to trial in court. Do not let the stalled case worsen the image of the Police in the community," Fernando said in his statement, Saturday, May 24.

Fernando urged the police to immediately resolve the case. He also reminded the importance of legal certainty in the Denny Indrayana case because the alleged state loss to the case reached Rp32.09 billion.

"Denny Indrayana needs to obtain legal certainty related to the legal process of the alleged Payment Gateway corruption case at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights," he said.

For your information, Denny Indrayana was previously named a suspect in 2015 during the era of the National Police Chief General Badrodin Haiti. The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters at that time, Brigadier General Anton Charliyan, said Denny Indrayana played a role in the application of the electronic passport-making program.

Currently, this case is re-emerging due to a demonstration at the National Police Headquarters carried out by the Indonesian Legal Observer Community Coalition.

They also urged the National Police Headquarters to prioritize handling corruption payments gateway cases.

"The police must prioritize handling corruption cases and ensure that the perpetrators of the suspects, Denny Indrayana, can be tried," said Field Coordinator of the Indonesian Legal Entrepreneurs Coalition Aziz Zizau.
