The Palace Explains The Reason Why The President Issued The Presidential Regulation On The Protection Of Prosecutors

Presidential Spokesperson Prasetyo Hadi explained the reason why President Prabowo Subianto issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 66 of 2025 concerning the Protection of the State against Prosecutors, one of which was to support the prosecutor's work to eradicate corruption.

Prasetyo assessed that fighting corruption and taking action against individuals who control state assets illegally requires cross-sectoral cooperation and support from the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

"We are working hard for one, fighting, what the President always emphasizes, fighting corruption. Second, we are also working hard, criminal acts other than corruption, we are also implementing, in this case, relating to the problem of controlling our natural resources. The task is being carried out by friends at the Prosecutor's Office," said Prasetyo Hadi as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 23.

Prasetyo emphasized that efforts to support the prosecutor's work are a collective work.

"We really interpret this as a team. We work together, because in the field we work together, the Attorney General's Office, the Police, TNI friends in order to enforce what I said earlier was controlling the control of our resources," said the Presidential Spokesperson.

Prasetyo said that the TNI's participation in protecting the prosecutor's office and prosecutors was also in order to strengthen.

According to him, the Prosecutor's Office and the TNI first had a memorandum of understanding (MoU) of cooperation, including those related to security assistance.

"The TNI is not always then perceived that the threat must take the form of a military. It doesn't always have to be like that. After all, we don't need to be trapped by the institution, but what we can do, what we can provide benefits for the benefit of society, the interests of the nation, and the interests of the state," said Prasetyo Hadi.
