PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto denied the testimony of former PDIP cadre Saeful Bahri regarding reports of operational money needs in managing the PAW Harun Masiku process as a member of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period.
This was conveyed by the defendant Hasto in a follow-up trial in the bribery case for the management of PAW and the obstruction to the investigation of the Harun Masiku case which presented Saeful Bahri as a witness at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday, May 22.
Hasto emphasized that he had never received a report regarding the need for operational funds of Rp. 1.5 billion in the management of PAW Harun Masiku.
"I object to the testimony of the witness (Saeful Bahri) who said that he had reported operational funding needs of Rp. 1.5 billion and I answered 'yes, please, as long as the mission is successful' because I never received the report," said Hasto in front of the panel of judges.
Hasto said that during a meeting with Saeful Bahri at Grand Hyatt Jakarta, he had never received a report about Harun Masiku's PAW operational funds. Saeful Bahri also admitted that he did not report the operational funds to Hasto.
"Yes, indeed at Grand Hyatt, I did not report it," said Saeful.
Not only that, Hasto also admitted that he objected to Saeful Bahri's testimony regarding the Rp 400 million bailout fund from Hasto to take care of Harun Masiku's PAW.
Moreover, said Hasto, Saeful Bahri had admitted that the bailout was only by Saeful to deceive his wife.
"I object to the testimony of the witness that there was information about the bailout funds from me. Because the bailout funds submitted by the witness brother were the reason for his wife having returned late," said Hasto.
Saeful Bahri explained that the information on the bailout funds from Hasto amounting to Rp. 400 million was obtained from Harun Masiku. After that, Saeful Bahri conveyed the information to his PDIP colleague Doni Tri Istiqomah. Saeful did not even know if the bailout came from Hasto
"Yes, because the bailout funds were indeed Mr. Harun who conveyed them, not Mr. Hasto. There was an incident, Harun informed me that there was a bailout fund. And I got information from Mr. Harun," explained Saeful Bahri.
Hasto also asked Harun Masiku to be immediately arrested in the bribery case for handling PAW and the obstruction of this investigation to be completed.
"The witness' statement stated that there was bailout funds from me. But it turned out that the witness heard from Harun Masiku's brother. That's why Harun Masiku should be arrested immediately. Thank you. Let it be clear," said Hasto.
Hasto previously mentioned that Saeful Bahri's statement was only recycled and was part of a legal acrobatic.
"The witness of Saeful Bahri's brother to the public prosecutor's question showed that the recycling process was real. Because what was read out in the BAP was a legal acrobatic," said Hasto on the sidelines of the trial at the Corruption Court.
Hasto said that the statement in the special examination report (BAPK) which became the prosecutor's reference was the old Saeful Bahri statement taken during the investigation on January 8, 2020. According to Hasto, Saeful Bahri's statement was turned on even though it was contrary to the facts in the court's decision.
"When the BAPK was later revived, even though it was contrary to the decisions number 18 and 28, it seemed that this was a recycling process," said Hasto.

According to Hasto, the contents of the revived BAPK Saeful Bahri tend to be burdensome, but do not contain other important information that can clarify the context of the case. Hasto gave an example of Harun Masiku's continuous insistence on Saeful Bahri, including related to fund support that did not appear in the BAP.
"That's where there is a conflict of interest because other things are not mentioned," concluded Hasto Kristiyanto.
