JAKARTA - The police finally managed to identify a corpse that was found rotting in the middle of the weeds near the southern passage, Keboireng Village, Tulungagung, East Java.

The victim, as reported by Antara, is known to be a migrant from Majalengka, West Java who is suspected of being a murder victim.

"After we did the post mortem, we strongly suspect that this victim is a murder victim," said Head of Tulungagung Police, AKBP Handono Subiakto in Tulungagung, Friday, April 30.

The identity of the male body is about 45 years old. This was discovered after the inafis team of the Polres Tulungagung conducted a fingerprint scan using an automatic finger print identification system.

As a result, the victim's fingerprints were identical to those of a resident named Sait Lupriadi (45), an immigrant from Blok Kamis, Argapura District, Majalengka Regency, West Java. This identity is recorded in the population administration.

This victim in Malang has the status of an immigrant. He left his hometown after separating from his wife. He worked as a sales of cake ingredients there, and one time this victim went to Prigi, Trenggalek to meet his colleague.

"To Trenggalek, I only played at 360 Prigi. There the victim met a friend who was selling meatballs around there. It just so happened that Sait had also been a meatball seller while in Madura," he said.

Since then, Sait's whereabouts were unknown. From the incident the corpse was found, several valuables belonging to the victim were missing, such as motorbikes, wallets and cell phones.

"The motorbike is a Honda Grand, and it is also missing," he said. Said Lupriadi's body has been handed over to his family in Malang for burial. Currently, a number of witnesses are still being questioned at the Tulungagung Police Criminal Unit.
