JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the second phase of the simultaneous corn harvest agenda centered in Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan from May 31 to June 6, 2025.

The President's visit was conveyed by the Head of the Human Resources Bureau (HR) of the West Kalimantan Police, Kombes Febrianto Guntur Sunoto, while directly inspecting corn land at Harry Hadisoemantri Air Base, Kandasan Hamlet, Bange Village, Sanggau Ledo District, Bengkayang, Sunday, May 18.

"The synergy between the Indonesian Air Force and the National Police is the main force in realizing food security. Collaboration like this must continue to be strengthened," said Febrianto as quoted by Antara.

The harvest agenda is also planned to be attended by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, which signifies the importance of West Kalimantan's strategic role in the national food security program.

In addition to ensuring harvest readiness, a team from the West Kalimantan Police also visited the corn processing plant which will become the center of downstream harvest. This factory is expected to be able to boost added value and strengthen the economy of local farmers.

Not only that, checks were also carried out at the Jagoi Babang Cross-Border Post (PLBN), which will be used as a corn export route to Malaysia on June 1, 2025.

"This cross-border post is an important gateway for local agricultural products to penetrate the international market," said Febrianto.

He hopes that the simultaneous planting and harvesting of corn will become a symbol of the revival of national food security, while strengthening the spirit of collaboration between the TNI, Polri, regional governments, and the community.

Separately, West Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto expressed his pride because West Kalimantan was chosen as the location for the corn harvest.

West Kalimantan was chosen to carry out the main harvest. However, we cannot move alone. The National Police only acts as a facilitator," said Pipit.

He added that the success of this harvest is expected to be a motivation for farmer groups and strengthen the existence of West Kalimantan as an agricultural center, not only for rice, but also for corn and other commodities.

"This is very proud. Hopefully our economic development will be good, so that investors are interested in entering," he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of PLBN Jagoi Babang Misdo Jerry Purba expressed optimism about the smoothness of corn exports through PLBN, thanks to the tighter synergy between institutions.

"This collaboration will have a positive impact on the local economy," he said.
